Quite hard.People think it's just hitting things with sticks.It is!But you've gotta have rhythm. What are your 5 favourite songs of all time? Luke: Depends on whether we are crap or not How many songs do you have ready? Luke:We have about 5 ready. Should be fun. What songs would you want to cover? Luke: I don't know. I've never really thought about it.   EXCLUSIVE CARL & PHIL INTERVIEW! They've been working on some new material and so far they sound great.So just for you, an exclusive interview with Carl. SO CARL,DESCRIBE YOUR NEW SONGS Carl: Well, alot of them are based on things that have happened in my life recently,such as finding my new girlfriend who I'm totally in love with. There are songs about love,hate,tragedy and hope. I've been going through an Emo stage at the moment, but "Bothered" is a fast paced Punk song. Those are my favourite kinds of music to mix, Emo and Punk. WHAT IS "BOTHERED" ABOUT? It's basically about my ex-girlfriend,who thinks that she can make me jealous about this new dude she likes and I'm like..oh my God,I'm so jealous..not. I just wanted to write something that summed up how I felt about that situation. I've been doing that alot. WHAT SONGS ARE YOU CURRENTLY WORKING ON? Well,at the moment I'm writing to songs. Ones about love and ones about death so two different sides of the spectrum."Be My Bride(I Hate Maybes)" is just to my girlfriend. I really don't wanna loose her so its kinda cool.Thats the love song. "The End" is about lying on my death bed,talking about things I wish I had done and things I wish I could do.It's probably going to be a semi-acoustic track.I'm just about to start a song called "Show Me Your Pictures". WHAT SONGS AND BANDS AHVE INFLUENCED YOU? Well, New Found Glory is in my CD player at the moment.I'm getting back into my Alkaline Trio aswell.And alot of the new Sum 41 stuff, like "Angels With Dirty Faces" and "Pieces". HOW HARD IS IT TO WRITE A SONG? It's really hard cus you've got to get the right notes together.The right bass,right solo,right drums and the write singer.But none of us can sing!*Laughs*So it's really hard.I can't stop writing them though so,the more I write the harder it gets! SO PHIL, DESCRIBE YOUR NEW SONGS Phil: Well as Carl said really, some of the songs i wrote were mainly about me and my life for example Losing You All The Time and Screwed Up, but there are some that are made for other people say for example Our Messed Up Teenage Lives which i based it on the band and some of my friends, then there is another song, but i have not got a title for it yet, and it was made by a special someone to me and they told me to do what i can with it, so i have!, im not saying who because they do not wish to be mentioned at this point in time, but don't worry about it because that person said they will speak out soon! WHAT DO YOU THINK CARLS SONG "BOTHERED" IS ABOUT? Well he told me it he wrote it because of his ex girlfriend was trying to make him jealous or something, but all in all its an ace song and thats all that matters to me and the band really! WHAT SONGS ARE YOU CURRENTLY WORKING ON? Well at the moment im working on 1 song, the title isnt confirmed yet but its about a girl i know, and this girl i really do like at the moment and well she gave me inspiration in writing the song, i'll update it as soon as its finished! WHAT SONGS AND BANDS AHVE INFLUENCED YOU? The bands that i have been listening to are Blink 182, Good Charlotte, Sum41, and loads others but the bands werent all the things that helped me write the songs ive writtian so far. SO WHAT ELSE INFLUENCED YOU THEN? Well we all got to write songs someday!, and what else influenced me was my life and relationships with people, thats the main thing overall! FINALLY, HOW HARD IS IT TO WRITE A SONG? At the start is the hardest and at the end aswell, but once you get writing your hand and mind are literally on autopilot!, if i ever get stuck i just have a break from it and listen to songs on my stereo and cd player, then i get back to writing, i think it helps. Yeah there going good, we got like a drummer now, and a second guitarist, so weve been getting there slowely but surely Are you looking forward to recording? Yeah definately, i cant wait until we get started What songs are you favourite on the record? Erm.... well all of them really but some more than other, say like, i more like Rock Show then others, but i generally like all of them. Thats why were recording them sort of songs really, cause there our favourite What's the best part of being in CARS DRIVE BY? Well its great that I'm in the band really, even though it was Carl and me that actually started it, and its great that people are actually joining us Finally, what songs do you have in the pipe line and what do you wanna learn? Well at the moment me and the rest of the band i hope are learning American Idiot by Green Day, and also Bowling For Soup - 1985, the songs that i want to learn i havent actually thought of yet, ive been hard working on our new songs! CARL Hey, how's it going? Going great thanks for asking! How are things with the band? Fantastic! Me and Phil finally have a drummer,Luke, and hopefully a 2nd guitarist, David. They ent to keen on the name though! Are you looking forward to recording? Oh hell yes! Cept for the singing! I gotta sing a few songs and lord knows I can't! What songs are you favourite on the record? I think, for me, Dammit beats them all. It's just an awesome tune. And also Main Offender sounds fun. Its looking good. Intro aswell. I wrote that song What's the best part of being in CARS DRIVE BY? Playing songs with my brothers! Playing with Phil, he is gonna be huge whatever he does in the future. Luke and David are two of my all time best friends. I can get into their heads! Not in that kind of way though Finally, what songs do you have in the pipe line and what do you wanna learn? 1985 and American Idiot are the next two track we are gonna perform. As for wanting to learn, er...probably Memory by Sugarcult. Basket Case aswell. It's gonna be a long ride the next few months! DAVID Hey, how's it going? Ye fine ta dude,what bout you? What songs are you favourite on the record? definately The Hives Walk Idiot Walk.a few other songs i wudnt mind doin, but theyre all kewl That's great.
